Sweet Innocence at Easter
Oh how sweet it is to watch a child sweetly searching for hidden treasures left by the Easter Bunny on Easter morning! Easter was so special this year with Lila. After she discovered and collected all of her eggs, had her first taste of chocolate and ran around the yard, she ended the day cozying up to her new friend, Mou Mou Bunny.

Guest Room Heaven
I just love LOVE LOVE Summer home decor. It’s always so fresh and clean. I like rooms that pull in unique treasures giving it character with a story to tell.
When I started flipping through the Pottery Barn catalog that came in the mail yesterday, I stumbled upon this AMAZING bedroom! It’s everything and more I’ve been dreaming up for a guest bedroom. Of course I’d have to put my own budget twist on it but it’s definitely my inspiration. I wish I could jump in! I’m sure if I spent a weekend here, my energy and creative juices would be pumping!!
I love the odd placement of the vintage beach/boat art and the other misplaced accessories on the wall (you can see it better in the catalog). It’s clean and modern with a hint of shabby chic/bed and breakfast. The view isn’t too shabby either!! :)) I wonder if my husband would notice a large charge on the credit card from Pottery Barn??

Green Diapering
Yesterday morning on Good Morning America there was a small segment about the latest biodegradable and reusable diapers, gDiapers. Many times it has crossed my mind, but then it just seems like an overwhelming task. But each time I throw diaper after diaper away into the ‘Genie’ I feel a little more queasy, a little more guilty… So maybe it’s time to, at a very minimum, give these diapers a try. And if nothing else the diaper covers are adorable !
This is the cute diaper cover that I’m going to order. Then you can either button in biodegradable/flushable or washable inserts. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Happy Saturday!

Let’s Sail Away
I’ve been on a major bargain hunt the last few months for sailboat wall art for our sitting room, with not a ton of luck so far at Ebay or Goodwill but I’m keeping the faith. In the meantime, I’ve fallen more in love with these beautiful boats…if boats were dancers, they would definitely be the ballerinas of the sea!
Here is my one lonely sailboat… I eventually want to fill this wall up with multiple sailboat paintings.
Here are just a few of the beauties I’ve seen on Ebay recently, but are either too expensive or just not the right size.

Display Frames for Jewelry
I recently fell in love with these adorable display frames from Pottery Barn, which gave me an excellent idea for the millions of frames sitting in our bedroom! They are cute but definitely not worth the money when they are so EASY to make.
Here are the display frames from Pottery Barn:
And here is the first one I finished using an old frame that I wasn’t using. I first painted the entire frame a robin’s egg blue, then I used a flat white spray paint. Once dried I distressed the heck out of it.
If you don’t have any frames that work, Michaels has a great selection that go on sale all the time. I got the hooks and some wire (for my next one) at Target.
Toodles!

Busy Times
It doesn’t seem there is ever a second these days just to sit down and take in all the wonders of this world… If we’re not racing to work, we’re racing to get home to dinner, get the kids to school, feed the dog, go through the mail, pay the bills, make a call to an old friend…to a new friend, pluck your eyebrows :)), make lunches for the next day. And if you do get that second to stop, your heart drops because for that mere instant you realize that amidst all the racing, you’ve missed out on hours, days, even years of your life…
One of my seconds this week happened after I opened this adorable card from a dear friend. Seems like such a small thing but it was so much more, I stopped, sat down and smiled, no wait, laughed. Thanks Ang! This made my week! Miss you!!!

New Obsession – Molly-Hanna Bib Necklaces
So I recently discovered and fell in love with these bib necklaces by the amazing J.Crew fashion designer, Molly Carey.
Aren’t these just incredible?!?
So of course, before my heart could even stop a pitter pattering, I was off…..to sweep the dust off my sewing machine, find supplies and learn how to make some of my own. Stay tuned and hope you’re having a great Monday. :)))

Whale of a Time
I just ordered this adorable linen whale pillow cover from Etsy Store 'branchhandmade' and I couldn’t wait to share it… I hope it’s as great as the picture! I’m trying to put together a nautical shabby chic living area using stuff I already have and just a few new touches. I’ve also been scouring Ebay for sailboat paintings that catch my eye. I was outbid on a really great one on Saturday so wish me luck on the next one!
If you’ve never checked out Etsy, go NOW!!! It’s an amazing online marketplace of vintage and handmade creations at very reasonable prices.
Take a little time to ‘smell the roses’ this week!

The Perfect Fabric Flower
So in my endless search for the perfect fabric flower for some of my jewelry designs, I finally decided it was time to figure out how to make my own since I could never find quite what I was looking for. So I ordered some fabric, went to work and WaaaaLaaaaaaa. Isn’t she soooo cute!?!?
There are a lot of different instructions out there so I started with this one, Frayed Flower from Maize in Montana, and then improvised as I went. I started with a 2” x 44” piece of fabric. I got mine from CraftConn.
I folded a small piece on one end and made a stitch, then I stitched down the bottom of one side in a large stitch pattern. When I got to the end of the fabric, I folded another small lip and did the final stitch into it. I then pulled the thread so the fabric bunched up. With the thread and needle still attached, I wrapped the fabric around in a circular pattern to make a flower. I then sewed through all the layers to secure it. Then I sewed a button in the middle (optional).
I wasn’t happy with the flatness of it, so I pushed the flower in and made quite a few stitches a little ways up from the bottom (this will depend on how much you want the flower to poof out. It’s kind of hard to explain but I think you’ll know what I mean when you get to that point, if not, let me know and I can help you out.
If all that seems like too much, I may make a few into pins or clips and carry them in my Etsy store….
Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!!

Sneak Peak: Etsy Shop
I’ve been busy working on my Spring/Summer jewelry line for my soon to open Etsy shop. After seeing a few of the first finished pieces, I would have to say the collection falls somewhere between J.Crew, Anthropologie and classic vintage styles. I can’t wait to show you everything but until then, here is a peek at one..
‘The Vintage Mango’
Hope you are having a great week!
